Beauty

Desire is what tells you the things life would be worth living for, if you could get them.

You can tell that a man is driven by desire when his head is high, his gaze fixed on the end goal, his every movement determined to change his world into something it has yet to become.

By comparison, you can tell that a man is driven by hope when you look into his eyes and see that in spite of pain and fear (though certainly not because of them), he'll try his best to carry on without changing anything.

Hope is what tells you the ways life is worth dying for.

Rhetorical in a Socratic way, or in a Psalmic way?
