It seems that the copy-protection schemes in the new High-Definition content market are somewhat less beneficial to the consumer than even the most skeptical critics could have imagined. With DMCA-styled legislation in the works for Canada as well, this lunacy is not going to stop any time soon. (Here are some reasons we should be totally opposed to a DMCA-styled act of Parliament.) Fortunately, there are still ways we can help stop the situation from getting worse.
